Throphill Grange is a stylish country house, situated 4 miles west of Morpeth in extensive grounds. The house was formed from a range of 18th century granaries and surrounded by large gardens and our own fields. There are extensive views over the exceptionally attractive rolling farmland and woods. There is a private terrace with a table and chairs for guests’ use in sunny weather.
Our rooms are in the east wing of the house with its own entrance, separate from the remainder of the house, where we live. Breakfast is served on a large table in the Weil Library.
Throphill Grange is ideally located for guests on business in the Morpeth or Newcastle area. Morpeth is 4 miles to the east whilst Newcastle is 19 miles to the south. The flagship National Trust properties Cragside and Wallington Hall are a short drive away and my favourite place locally, Belsay Hall and Castle is 5 miles away.
Our local pub, The Dyke Neuk is half a mile away. It serves food and a range of local ales. Morpeth is a prosperous town with excellent shops; there are a myriad of options for eating and drinking including Lolla Roso an exceptionally popular Italian restaurant.
